I appreciate a good restaurant. But for me, so much goes into an overall great experience and it just isn’t about the food alone. The ambiance was the number one most important thing when I attended a meeting for the Oregon City Visioning committee. Across all attendees, it ranked in the top three most important priorities for choosing a location to dine or imbibe. My hope is the lighting is always warm-toned and inviting. (In other words, it shouldn’t be so bright that you feel like you can perform surgery.) I love a comfortable chair that allows us to linger and selections on the menu that are more of an adventure. I love great outdoor seating options! Give me an experience. I can get food in my raised garden bed, at the grocery store and farmers market, but I go OUT for more reasons than quieting my hunger pains. How wonderful is it to have outdoor seating during warm summer evenings? Give me unique menu items with combinations or ingredients I have never had the pleasure of trying before… yes please!
