The Wild Hare Saloon

The Wild Hare Saloon sits in Southridge Shopping Center on the south side of Oregon City, away from the Main Street corridor, and runs as a proper neighborhood saloon: full bar, live music three nights a week, a kids menu, and a scratch kitchen that takes the food more seriously than the name might suggest.

The Puddin’ River Cheese Fondue is the dish regulars mention first — smoked chicken apple sausage with pretzels and apples for dipping, served warm. The Black & Bleu Bites, tenderloin with bleu cheese and warm baguette, cover the lighter end of the starters, and the Birria Tacos with slow-cooked braised beef and consommé for dipping aren’t what most people expect to find on a saloon menu.

The burger lineup runs $16 to $22 with hand-formed patties, and steaks go up to $42. The rest of the menu covers more ground than most bars attempt: salads, rice bowls, seafood entrees, sandwiches, and wraps alongside the pub standards, with gluten-free options marked throughout.

Happy hour runs daily from 2 to 5pm. Weekend brunch runs Saturday and Sunday until 1pm, and the Wild Hare French Toast is the dish that comes up most in brunch reviews. The saloon has private event space and has hosted community fundraisers, functioning more like a neighborhood fixture than a typical bar on that side of town.
