This McMenamins location occupies a historic 1930 building that served as St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, and the space carries that history through original artwork and historic photos alongside the chain’s usual irreverent decorating style — an odd but workable pairing inside a former house of worship.

Beer is the main draw for a lot of regulars. McMenamins brews consistently across its locations, and the Ruby ale has built a following well beyond this one pub. The tap list runs from lighter session ales to darker offerings, and a sampler is a reasonable way to figure out where to land before committing to a pint. Food is Northwest pub fare — burgers, fish and chips, house-made pizza, soups, and seasonal specials built on local ingredients, with gluten-free buns available.

Happy hour runs daily from 3 to 6pm. The outdoor patio is pet-friendly, WiFi is free and open, and bicycle parking is available on-site. Large groups are welcome with advance notice. McMenamins passport holders can stamp this location.

The atmosphere skews welcoming over trendy. Families come for lunch, regulars settle in for the evening, and out-of-towners stop in drawn by the McMenamins name.
