Nebbiolo Wine Bar
Nebbiolo takes its name from the grape behind Barolo and Barbaresco, and the list built around it runs past 300 bottles, weighted Italian with a smaller Oregon section. It’s woman-owned, has been open more than 13 years, and picked up an OpenTable Diner’s Choice award in 2025. Staff are known for walking guests through the list on request, whether the goal is something cellar-worthy or something easy to drink over conversation.
Food isn’t an afterthought to the wine program. The Granchio Nebbiolo — a spicy Dungeness crab ceviche with avocado and housemade corn chips — is the dish the bar is named for and a reasonable first order. The Quattro Funghi Ravioli, four mushrooms in a marsala cream sauce, and Sea Scallops con Risotto are the two mains that come up most in reviews. A rotating Meat and Cheese Board of local salumi and cheeses works as a starting move with the first pour, and dessert runs to a rotating bread pudding and creme brulee.
The room is small and close-tabled, built for a long evening rather than a quick one — a natural fit for a date night, though the small footprint means Friday and Saturday fill up and walk-ins often don’t find a seat.
Happy hour runs Tuesday through Thursday, 4 to 6pm, with drink and appetizer discounts. Closed Mondays; reservations are recommended for weekend dinners.
