Midway Historic Public House
Midway Historic Public House has been a fixture on 7th Street since 1933, when it opened as the Midway Confectionary and Bus Depot. After Prohibition ended, it converted to a tavern and has been one ever since. The original 900-square-foot building has grown into a nearly 7,000-square-foot pub that remains one of the oldest continually operating bars in Oregon City.
The menu covers more ground than most sports bars. Breakfast is served all day: eggs any style, omelets, skillets, benedicts, biscuits and gravy, and breakfast burritos. The burger lineup runs from a straightforward hamburger to the Hangover Burger and a Texas Bacon Cheeseburger, all on brioche buns with hand-cut fries. The South of the Border section adds street tacos in four proteins, birria, three-cheese quesadillas, and grande nachos. Sandwiches and wraps include a Reuben, a Cubano, French Dip, and a Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap. Late night keeps the kitchen going with tenders, wings, mozzarella sticks, and sliders.
Twenty beers are on tap, and 11 league-quality pool tables fill out the floor. A large private event room with on-site catering handles everything from birthday parties to corporate events. Takeout is available by phone.
