Sorrento Italian Bistro is a neighborhood Italian restaurant in the traditional sense — pasta made in-house, generous portions, and no attempt to reinvent the format. Family-owned and running on recipes passed down through generations, it leans on consistent execution rather than novelty.

Pasta is the core of the menu. The Lasagna Classico, layered with Italian sausage, beef, ricotta, and mozzarella, is the house specialty that comes up most often. Di Mare Al Limone brings fettuccini with bay shrimp, scallops, clams, and mussels in a white wine lemon alfredo, the pick for anyone wanting seafood. The Carbonara sticks to the classic build — pasteurized egg, spaghetti, bacon, pecorino, black pepper — and the Canalones, a stuffed pasta noodle in alfredo with a touch of marinara, is a less common dish worth trying if you haven’t seen it elsewhere.

The room is warm without being fussy. Tables are close enough together that the place feels lively on a weekend night, but not so tight that conversation becomes a problem. Outdoor seating is available. Service is attentive and unhurried. It’s kid-friendly in the way that good Italian places tend to be, nobody raises an eyebrow at a family dinner.

Online ordering and table reservations are available through their website. Happy hour runs every day from 3 to 6pm: $1 off appetizers, draft beers, wine by the glass, and well drinks. Closed Tuesdays.
